Tonight's Poet Corner: Sonnet Solstice #206

It's Broken, But... by Belinda Roddie It's broken, but some glue would do the trick, some scotch tape and some stitches, nice and neat. It won't look perfect, but we'll go with it, as long as it's strong as it has a beat. I've got a staple gun and safety pins in case it still threatens to fall apart, and if nothing else works, I'll just send in an order for a brand spanking new heart that I'll put in your chest no extra cost, I know it's not the same. I know we won't make up for all the moments that you lost, but I think it'll be fine if we don't linger on how it looks. Your heart's broken, but we'll endure the scars after the mend.

Today's OneWord: Powder

Maude waxed her eyebrows and powdered her nose, while Melissa trimmed the hairs on her fingers and toes. Alexandra used foundation to cover up her pimples, and her sister, Mary Anne, kept her eyeliner simple. The four colored and sketched on their faces and jaws, painting roses on their nails and their talons and claws.
