Tonight's Poet Corner: The Suite

The Suite

when the conductor
lowered bones
from arching blades
gears slowing to a cricket creak

the denouement
of hushed reeds
and whistling wind from a
horned lip

was met with blessed
silence and
programmed anticipation.
