"I don't have to prove anything to you, douchenozzle!" Elijah spat, slamming down his half-empty pint of cheap beer and scowling at Will. "I don't have to tell you anything to show you how much of a man I am!"
I wanted to say something - do something - before it got worse. But my husband held me back. I felt his hand on my shoulder, but the tension in my body did not fade.
