I Met A Snow Boy
by Belinda Roddie

I met a snow boy on my way to work,
and he decided he would follow me
all the way to the building. Me, a jerk,
did not heed his presence. Eventually,
I saw him watching me from the window
where I sat hunched against my desk. He had
the white, powdery complexion, his nose
bright red, and his eyes beady. Like the cad
I was, I pretended it was a dream
and that the snow boy could not be alive,
but he then followed me home. In my scheme
to ignore him, I failed along my drive.
He ran in front of me, and in one blow,
my car had reduced him to simply snow.
