Tonight's Poet Corner: Life Is Short...And Full Of Shortages

Life Is Short...And Full Of Shortages
by Belinda Roddie

No, you cannot drink
any boba tea, and you
cannot buy a brand new car.
You can't get brand new rubber
for that brand new car, either.

Want furniture? So does
everyone else, so hold off
on that new couch or shelf.
Stick to your old bicycle because
new bikes and parts are getting sparse.

And be careful buying resin, too,
for your molds and jewels
and math rocks. Want a GPU?
There's trouble there, too, so
enjoy the graphics that you have.

But you can find a job in Missoula
if you can survive, well,
actually living in Missoula.
