Tonight's Poet Corner: While Picking Blackberries

While Picking Blackberries
by Belinda Roddie

While picking blackberries
under a full moon, I spotted two
welcoming lips,
and two
welcoming
eyes.

And the kiss kiss
go go
love love part of my brain
flared up
like the tailcoats of a
Mars rocket

shooting
way up

and the lights dimmed
momentarily, but
I could still see my
reflection in the
blues of your
Please don't let go
look.
