Today's OneWord: Peripheral
I could see the mob approaching out of my peripheral vision. I could definitely hear them. The scraping of their sneakers, the animalistic howls bursting from their raw, constricted throats. They brandished signs like they were both swords and shields, weapons and protection. I tried not to pay attention to the words they screamed or the slogans they waved around. I tried to remember the light ahead of me, rather than focus on the darkness behind me.
