Tonight's Poet Corner: Palmheld

Palmheld by Belinda Roddie soaking in the black pepper with a second-hand sponge, I sneezed and wiped my nose with a scar. you waited for me outside, your cold fingers gripping your cold fancy purse, the wind refusing to warm up your cold lips. you had flames dancing around your eyes but the green ice could not be thawed, while I, clawing for life in the kitchen, grabbing my bagged lunch, staggering, forgot the clock on the wall and stifled another guffaw with a hook.
