Tonight's Poet Corner: Sonnet Solstice #295

Alas! I Lack by Belinda Roddie Alas! I lack a lovely wife to wed and so remain reluctant bachelor. Methinks I shall dance with this broom instead and get so drunk that I fall to the floor. When I awake, I'll try to woo a girl or two and most likely get repulsed looks, coercing me to flee the public world and immerse myself in good food and books. Alas! To have a lovely wedded wife would make someone like me somewhat worthwhile and add dimension to my lonely life, my routine adopting a brand new style. Oh, well! What good is it for me to pine when I can drown my sorrows in red wine?

"I'm stressed out." "Have you tried yoga?" "Take deep breaths." "It's not the end of the world." "But have you tried yoga, though?" "Exercise always relaxes me." "How about a healthy smoothie to cleanse your body?" "My mother always said that stress is a sign of an overworked mind." "No, seriously, you should try yoga." "Are you going to be okay?" "Come have tea with me, and we'll talk." " Do some yoga, for Christ's sake!"
