Tonight's Poet Corner: Swollen Bridge

Swollen Bridge by Belinda Roddie No amount of traffic warnings can stop this particular jam, inflammation reddening the roads with armored husks of microbes maneuvering their way into a tired face to push the tops of cheeks outward in a chipmunk half-chew. Hot water flows from a coffee cup, and the splotches on the tissue paper freeway grow damper and deeper with a storm. Tablets are needed to punch the system. Bring back to full capacity. Now.

Today's OneWord: Game

Want a cup of coffee? I'm game. Brie on toast? Super game. Pull up a chair and roll out a board game. Shuffle two dozen cards and we'll play something entirely original. Aces will be the same caliber as kings. Kings will serve jesters. Because jesters are supreme. Cup of coffee's good. Extra sugar? Don't mind if I do. More brie? Absolutely. If it were cheaper, I'd eat it every day. On toast. And sandwiches.
