Tonight's Poet Corner: The Kite

The Kite by Belinda Roddie and they looked up, and the kite in the shape of a rainbow fluttered in the confines of its own covenant, soaked in unseasonal sunlight as January slept through its obligations and belched fumes of carbon dioxide. and lo and behold, the kite kept flying, impervious to the curious gaze of a canine and the amused smile of her owner, the latter of which, despite the mask, was given away by the twinkle in her eyes and the light breaths of hope bubbling brightly enough to be bottled. and so we watched, together at last, as the kite kissed the sky, and the endless blue consented for today, at least for today, for the sake of fabulosity.
