Tonight's Poet Corner: Sonnet Solstice #395

The Crabs I Bought by Belinda Roddie The crabs I bought for dinner were as fresh as they could be, and we enjoyed the feast. The meat was succulent and at its best, and we devoured the meal quite heartily. When we were finished, the plates swept away, I lit a cigar, while my brother poured us all the tallest glasses of champagne he could find. We drank until we were floored and dizzy, dancing in the living room, while I smoked stogie after stogie, smells of ash and resin rising in a plume above my head. We forgot about hells and remembered heavens until the morn, when my worst ever hangover was born.
