Tonight's Poet Corner: Magnificent

Magnificent by Belinda Roddie Perfection is rare, but I have my ways of finding it. For one, the radiant smile of my wife, all pearl and sapphire, ruby silhouettes left on my cheeks from her warm caresses. For another, a hot cup of peppermint chocolate tea as the rain lashes its angry tongue at the even pettier wind with fidgeting fingers. And for another, the sleeping void loaf that is my cat on the sectional as I navigate another existential crisis with nerdy friends. But now, I have discovered the next Holy Grail, for there are many: And I just want to go up to a rottweiler lab mix and hug and squish its precious face.
