Tonight's Poet Corner: Introspection

Welp. While Christmas was absolutely lovely, my girlfriend and I have been stricken with the good old 24 hour stomach flu that's going around. Our apartment is in absolute quarantine, and I'm really hoping I feel better in time for tomorrow so I can see some relatives of mine who I haven't seen in about seven years. Can't hug them, of course...grumble, grumble, illness, grumble... Wish me luck recovering, readers. I think you can understand why I'm not exactly introspective at the moment, so have a great night and a great weekend.

Friday's Whims of the Time Traveler 20.1: May 9th, 2010

"Caramel Kisses" is an unfinished novel I began to write back in 2009 and stopped working on in 2010. The two main characters - Adriana Maguire Reynard and Emma Burking - would ultimately be revised for my later completed novella, "The Liffey Is Half-Asleep," in 2011. Caramel Kisses: Chapter Six by Belinda Roddie “Is this what you want?” “Hmmm?” “I said, is this what you want?” “That’s a funny question.” “Just tell me.” “Probably.” “That’s it?” “It’s different. It’s nice. I’ve always wanted to try this.” “Try this? What am I, one of thirty-two flavors at an ice cream shop?

Today's OneWord: Assuming

"Why are you assuming the worst of me?" I demanded as I pulled the blanket closer to my chin. My stomach roiled beneath my bathrobe. Even water was difficult to digest. "Because," my mother replied, rolling her eyes, "there's always some excuse for not having a job at this point." "Oh, I'm sorry," I groaned. "Is getting norovirus a flimsy excuse? 'Cause as soon as you start vomiting, I'm gonna scream at you about why you're not heading to the office!"
