Today's OneWord: Fire

The fire was still alive and kicking, and unlike the songs implied, we weren't goodbye-ing quite yet. But we were conspiring - some holiday tunes did hit it spot on. Katie poured us both hot cocoa spiked with peppermint schnapps, and we stirred our marshmallows around the chocolate-y broth with peppermint sticks. I kissed her on the cheek and stroked her woolly, tacky Christmas sweater sleeve.
