by Belinda Roddie Is that fireworks or just the cat? Because I swear, every time I think I hear yowling, I see red and gold in the sky above me. Showers of something brighter than my imagination, all while the feline sirens sound. I'll cuddle with my furbaby tonight, all while manmade confetti blooms like floral distress on the horizon. Then I'll pretend none of it's an emergency, after all - I mean, we're all gonna die tomorrow anyway, right? But for now, there's plenty of booze and kibble to go around for the both of us.
