Tonight's Poet Corner: Sonnet Solstice #313
I'm Overworked by Belinda Roddie I'm overworked and underpaid; I think I can't take much more of this roughshod life. I'm trying hard to sleep and not to drink, and to pay more attention to my wife. I want to find fulfillment in my craft, but my true passion never seems too near. When I think about goals, I have to laugh; what I love couldn't be a real career. I'm worried that I'll falter on the path that I have chosen, and that I'll succumb to melancholy and fatigue. The fact is, though I love my job, I still feel numb at times. It's when my fingers dance and fly across the keyboard that I feel alive.
