by Belinda Roddie I've been drinking, and I feel helpful. I sweep up glass that's never been broken. I dust a table that's nothing but splinters after my father's screaming and my mother's weeping. I clean up missing pieces that no one else but me. I wash every dish, every chalice, every vessel that contains my vital organs, my feelings, and everything last impulse that Mr. Id tucked away under the neverending folds of his jacket.
