Tonight's Poet Corner: Sonnet Solstice #496
You're Hurting by Belinda Roddie You're hurting, and I can't reduce that hurt, but I can make you tea and bring you snacks and fetch your very blanket while you flirt with pain and existential crisis. Knacks for comfort aside, I still can't make it stop. Your tears will fall regardless of my tone or my intent, and while salt water drops, all I can do is hold you, solid stone but warm against you, and tell you I'm here, and I've got you - at least, physically. Will it matter much? Who knows. The spear of sorrow that has lanced into you leaves a scar that I can't cover up with sweet kisses, but I can provide love and heat.
