Tonight's Poet Corner: Sonnet Solstice #261

The Little Boat by Belinda Roddie The little boat had settled on the beach, and two small sailors scurried from its hull, their faces red, sweat threatening to bleach the pure white of their caps. I braved the cold and the wind and walked over to them as they tried to tie their ship down to the sand. I greeted them and said that I was glad to help them, but one sailor raised his hand and hissed like a cat. Right before my eyes, the two changed into creatures with big horns and even longer claws. I let out cries of terror and took off along the shore. They did not follow me. I saw them take their boat back to the sea right at daybreak.
