Tonight's Poet Corner: Rubbed Off
Rubbed Off by Belinda Roddie Weird. I could have sworn I wrote, I love you, on the whiteboard magnetized to the fridge, and I have the distinct of you writing that you loved me back. But now the words we wrote have served to be fleeting, though I thought they'd be almost permanent, and even now, I feel the letters stenciled onto my skin, engraved into my ribs, injected into my heart like sweet, sweet narcotics, stimulating my sorry excuse for a soul again.
