My Cardboard Balcony

My friend Lyz got married today. The wedding came together. The reception came together. It all came together. There were reunions. There was music. There was dancing. It really was beautiful. And I'm glad all the pieces fell into place. Congratulations, Lyz and Alex. I wish you many, many years of happy marriage. ...Yeah, no Storyteller today. I know, you saw that coming, didn't you?

Our hosts tonight served us plates of cheese and ham - and only cheese and ham. Being vegan, I didn't want to be rude, but I left both the pig and dairy untouched and sipped on my Chardonnay while my stomach rumbled. One of the hosts, Jerry, seemed to notice and maybe even pity me, for a few minutes later, he walked out of the dining room, and a few minutes after that, he passed me a pack of saltine crackers.
