Tonight's Poet Corner: Sonnet Solstice #332

I Don't Have Time by Belinda Roddie I don't have time to waste or time to spare; the world might be ending - all systems go. Democracy is hanging by a hair, and I'm just clinging to the things I know and the people that I love for comfort. I'm waiting for a miracle, for time to give me more space in the day. Effort can only get me so far, and my mind can only manage so many affronts to my pride and my confidence. I don't have time to waste or time to spare. The months are moving faster than ever. I won't be lured into a false security, but I do wish I had more time for me.

"Get us out of here!" screamed Ivan. "I can't!" "Get us out of here now!" "The door's locked, you idiot!" bellowed Andy, who furiously jostled with the doorknob to prove it. Ivan and she were trapped in the basement of their stepfather's house, and Ivan was already losing his mind.
