Tonight's Poet Corner: Wicked Smart

Wicked Smart by Belinda Roddie she's got a face that's a work of art bad to the bone and wicked smart she'll drink you under the table and then make your skeleton shake once she takes you to bed when the aftershock hits she'll tear you apart force feed you cigarettes while she chomps on cigars the stars are aligned as her body descends wait a handful of years 'til you see her again

Today's OneWord: Vacant

A vacant hotel room becomes occupied by an old woman with a vacant stare. Her eyes are unfocused, but they fool you into thinking she is gazing at the vacant parking lot. Only now, a red truck rumbles its way to a white stained spot, and the old woman's daughter, in flannel and a black jacket, trudges toward the inn with her hands deep in her pockets and a tired wad of peppermint gum wandering in her mouth.
