Tonight's Poet Corner: Rewrite The Bible

Rewrite The Bible
by Belinda Roddie

rewrite the Book of
Jessie taking a piss on
copper-faced Daniel
facing twelve lions in a foxhole.
rewrite the

part where a woman
turns into salt
and her husband scoops it
into a sack and
carries it away
(because salt
was fucking pricey
back in the day).

rewrite the

number of times a man was
nailed to a piece of
plywood,
gagged with a dried up weed,
and tossed into the
Mediterranean
where he cried brine and
writhed so much that he got
splinters in his spine.

we want to use that story
for someone cooler.

make it two pieces of plywood.
