Tonight's Poet Corner: To Do List
To Do List
by Belinda Roddie
Today, I shall
dust my shoes with dirt,
dry my eyes with fire,
and eat lunch while tiptoeing
on top of a skyscraper.
I shall
write while
walking, walk while
talking, and grow
pink roses right smack
in the middle of dying December.
There will be
meatloaf for breakfast, muffins for lunch,
and tiny cheese cubes all the way until
dinner (which will be cake, of course).
Then s'more making over the stove
right after I refuse to
go to sleep.
Tomorrow will be just the same.
