classmate texts me
words of wisdom
just to best me. I
punch right back with
twelve-point black
Helvetica that dares her to
convince me "that I'm not
smarter than you."
She takes pictures
of the mixtures
that she pops into the
fissures of her oven,
and I'm loving how she's hugging
up the screen, eating a muffin,
drinking coffee, language-coughing
on the phone, "Date. Care to drop in?"
