Tonight's Poet Corner: Lion Cub

Lion Cub

Furry head latched onto
a furry spring of hot-wired
coils, waiting to latch into curves
around my little finger,
but instead the lion cub is
trying to sleep in my lap
and I'm too scared to
try to stroke its head.
