Tonight's Poet Corner: Which Way

Which Way
by Belinda Roddie

Which way do I spin
the children's top to make
the rainbows appear in the sky?
And how can I make the rain fall
in ribbons that are pretty enough
to tie in your hair?

There's confetti in your eyes and
cinnamon in your kiss. I am
salty and sharp, you are mellow
and light. If I can paint you
pictures that are as living as
a sunrise, then maybe the following
nights won't be so damn cold.
