Tonight's Poet Corner: Introspection

Well. It's happening. I am now becoming a busy person.

Let me explain. While I am still working at the bookstore, I just started a part-time teaching job as well. I've finished up training for that and will be subbing for another teacher next week. I also have a transcription job underway, as well as the oncoming developments of my student teaching and my potential school site. In the meantime, I have been working on wedding stuff, including catering and budgeting, and maintaining this blog. At night, I read unpublished books and later write reviews about them and email them to publishing reps.

I'm not sure how much I like being this busy. And my brain, all the while, is trying to tell me I've bitten off more than I chew. It's terrifying to have this much work now, and more work ahead of me.

But God damn, is it exciting. It's such an adrenaline rush. I am so stoked to be moving forward and trying new things and building new bridges. I love being an educator and a bookseller and a book reviewer and an editor and a writer all at the same time. This is the kind of life I've always imagined for myself - an energetic and immersive one, where I am always going on new adventures and learning new things. Where I am very much involved in other people's lives to the point in which I don't feel like I always have to pass the time watching Youtube and playing online solitaire.

I mean, yeah, I'll still want those days to relax. I'll want days where I'm not working or going to classes or scribbling out new larger writing projects. That's okay. But I love how there's a path I'm carving out for myself. Everything is falling into place and more. I'm meeting new people, establishing new relationships, and overall having the time of my life.

I just hope it just gets better from there, and I become less nervous and more confident down the road. I want nothing but the best.

I also wish the best to you, my dear handful of readers. Have a great night and a great weekend, everyone.
