I Drank Myself Stupid

I drank myself stupid on the night of
my bachelor party, slumping against
my best man's shoulder. "I think that's enough."
he said, but I giggled and simply went
back to the bar to ask for second shots
and maybe thirds or fourths, but that was when
my groomsmen-to-be pulled me from my thoughts
of intoxication so I could spend
more time sobering up so I could get
home without resulting in a car wreck
on the freeway. even though I was set
to be completely dazed. I felt a peck
on my cheek and a voice say, "Glad you're here,"
as the wedding drew ever quickly near,
