Tonight's Poet Corner: Introspection

Well. This was a weird week.

Don't get me wrong - most of it was great! I celebrated my two year anniversary at my current teaching job. In fact, it was Teacher Appreciation Week this week, and boy, did I feel appreciated! Free food from families? Kind notes and gifts from students? It really emphasizes why I continue to do what I do.

Then around the halfway mark...well, things got odd.

Some of it got downright scary. I don't want to go into the healthcare thing here, but let's just say that I have friends and loved ones who will die if the AHCA is passed. It looks like a lot of House seats might go blue because of this vote. Get active.

Apart from that, everything just got...overwhelming. My allergies have suddenly kicked in and are making my life Hell. I've been pretty emotional and on edge due to a lot of the negative and anti-free speech tones I'm getting from the fucked up administration. There's a lot changing in my life, and today, I got inundated with new information that I don't know how to handle.

Yeah, I broke down at least a little bit. I wasn't sure if I liked the decisions I was making. Yet I'm still going to make them.

And yes, I am being cryptic on purpose. Just call me Vague McVaguerson!

Change is terrifying, and sometimes it doesn't work out. But it happens. And I'm rolling with it.

Hopefully next week is a little steadier and calmer. We'll see, though. Lot of crazy shit going down locally, nationally, and globally.

Hang in there, everyone. And have a great night and a great weekend.
