Tonight's Poet Corner: A Cheap How To

A Cheap How To
by Belinda Roddie

there's not much you can do
to stem the tide
besides ripping up a flag
besides toppling a tower
besides clocking a Nazi
right square in the crooked jaw
besides sitting in a police car
with your hands cuffed behind your back
but your middle fingers still extended
toward those fascists screaming their
pseudo-supremacy and their
bullshit fake superiority
while the marble keeps crumbling
while the facade struggles
to stay intact
