Atonement

This evening, you'll find me
on both knees, praying to
a god that I don't believe in
just to cleanse me of an artificial
sin. And I'm clinging to
the faint hope that you'll

find some worth in me,
pulling me to my feet
and helping me maintain my
balance, just so I can see
the real me in the reflection
of your green eyes
your blue eyes
your hazel eyes
your everything
