Today's OneWord: Railroad

How long have you been working on the railroad? Has it really been all the live long day? Because last I checked, you were the heir to at least twenty million dollars as soon as your super wealthy father kicked the bucket. I guess you weren't exactly proving to him that you earned it. So, nothing like an afternoon's worth of labor and sweat, huh?

Only I've been working here way longer than you could ever imagine. I'd say you ought to learn from me, but you don't seem to be the learning type.

Today's OneWord: Statues

Why were the statues going white, and why was the rain cascading in sheets? I tried to find solace by the window, but the world outside had become nothing but glass. Blankets of water blurred the semblance of life that I stretched my mind to detect. Near me, my lover was asleep on the divan with wine pooling across her lap. Her curls lay in wet swaths around the warm nape of her neck. The statues would crumble in due time. The deluge was impending. We both would drown.
