Tonight's Poet Corner: Coping With It All
Coping With It All
by Belinda Roddie
How did she learn
to swallow her tears
or seal them off in a
mason jar? How did
she manage to change
the words of a sad song
into a more digestible
jingle for a morning jog?
She says that happiness
must be fought for; it
doesn't come naturally. Like
any curmudgeonly neighbor,
it must be cajoled into your
abode, poured a mug of tea,
and reminded of the days when
it was still beautiful and loved.
