Tonight's Poet Corner: I've Reached My Limit
I've Reached My Limit
by Belinda Roddie
All at once,
my heart goes limp,
turns sideways like
a dead fish, seeks
out Heaven in an
oversized blimp.
The attack makes
the cameo. The pulse
morphs into fried cable.
It's like my eyes
have melted into tiny
static crystals, molded
into marbles that can
hardly replace the ones
I've already lost. I'm
shaky and confused,
and while I'm happy
for the support, I can
assure you, once
the dust has settled
like cinders around the
podium, that I am
exactly 110% done.
