Tonight's Poet Corner: Sonnet Solstice #376

Here Are Some Things
by Belinda Roddie

Here are some things I learned this Thanksgiving:
First of all, there is nothing wrong with your
family celebrating one or two
days early. Sometimes, work schedules are more
than just a nuisance, so you have to try
to tweak expectations for your loved ones.
The second thing to learn is that if you
plan to make tea in the microwave, please,
for the love of God, remember to pour
water into the mugs so you don't set
your rented cabin ablaze. That would be
a nightmare to pay for. And finally,
remember that your family loves you,
and they're sure thankful that you love them, too.
