Tonight's Poet Corner: Sonnet Solstice #399

I'm In New York
by Belinda Roddie

I'm in New York, and boy, is it the tits!
I love this simple fam'ly reunion.
After a train ride, I was chuffed to bits
to be with my awesome and goofy twin,
as well as my charming brother-in-law,
who showed his coins and poured me a nice glass
of Port to cleanse both the mind and the maw
as we watched drag queens try out magic acts
and lip sync 'til their hearts gave out. I know
I'm in for a treat, as I navigate
baseball games, seeing friends, and Broadway shows
that are as queer as can be. Not too late
to have some fun with family, I say -
especially in the east USA!
