Tonight's Poet Corner: Everything Will Be Fine

Everything Will Be Fine
by Belinda Roddie

peachy keen
like a dream
seamless, buttons
stitched
seamlessly

fine and dandy
sweet as candy
sour, too
and bitter
dark chocolate
bitter

you held my hand
through a tiny window
as I stood outside
mosquitos in my hair
mosquitos
tasting me
sweet as candy

peaches and cream
was this little fling
syrupy, cloying
sticking in my craw
molasses
all the way down

everything
will completely
and totally work out
as soon as they don't
stab us to see
if we really bleed
sugar bliss
and whipping cream
