Tonight's Poet Corner: Sonnet Solstice #477

Indoor Halloween
by Belinda Roddie

Indoor Halloween's gonna be a fun
night, isn't it, as we avoid the plague?
My costume's ready to go, number one,
and I've dug into the candy two days
early. Perhaps when I can catch a breath
and not be so damn panicky, I will
read to my friends The Masque of the Red Death,
which is both apt and such a tim'ly thrill
(Edgar, eat your damn heart out!). Pumpkins? Where?
We have small ones, but not any to carve.
It will also also be Binx's birthday. Scare
the children? No. But let's hope they don't starve
from lack of treat-or-treating. I shall shout,
"Happy Halloween!" Also, vote Trump out.
