Saturday's Storyteller: Shards

Shards
by Belinda Roddie

There are fragments everywhere, too numerous to pick up. They glitter like crystal and lie in endless tiny mirrors.

Those mirrors reflect us. What we've accomplished. What we've failed to accomplish. Who we raise up and who we cast down.

Let us hope the visages captured in this broken glass represent something beautiful and strong.

Meanwhile, climb the staircase to the open air.

The ceiling has been shattered.

This week's prompt was provided by the picture below. Congratulations to President Elect Joe Biden and to Vice President Elect Kamala Harris.
