Tonight's Poet Corner: Introspection

It finally happened. After ten years of posting updates on my blog to Facebook, the social media hemorrhoid has decided that it is done with My Cardboard Balcony.

This blog site has been flagged as "abusive spam" now, and consequently, not only can I no longer share my blog on Facebook, but I also had to witness all of my past blog posts removed. No one is reviewing this flagrant abuse of the system, and the best assumption I can have is that someone reported me by mistake.

The best assumption, mind you.

So here I am. I was ready to celebrate ten years of My Cardboard Balcony in September of this year. Zuck the Suck continues to prove how shitty his creation can be. This does not, however, deter me. I will continue to post and share my writing spurts, and I hope you all remain for the ride.

Please spread the word about My Cardboard Balcony. The Internet is an incredible place, and I am grateful to have it in order to share my work. Let's not see this blog sink into oblivion.

Today's OneWord: Statues

Why were the statues going white, and why was the rain cascading in sheets? I tried to find solace by the window, but the world outside had become nothing but glass. Blankets of water blurred the semblance of life that I stretched my mind to detect. Near me, my lover was asleep on the divan with wine pooling across her lap. Her curls lay in wet swaths around the warm nape of her neck. The statues would crumble in due time. The deluge was impending. We both would drown.
