Tonight's Poet Corner: Buzzed

Buzzed
by Belinda Roddie

You dip the needle in the honey
and stitch the sweetness
right into the sky,

where the horizon
meets our bare skin, stingers
perfect for making tattoos.

Now the clouds are golden and sticky.
They drizzle confectionary bliss
onto our tongues. I put my mouth
on you - the tongue hits the syrup -

a thousand hives buzz
with dance floor music
just for the queen. You drape
your lips over mine, and the
flavor is utterly obscene,

and I can taste it
and I can taste it
and I can taste it forever.
