Tonight's Poet Corner: Repaved

Repaved
by Belinda Roddie

The hole in my heart
has been filled in with cement.
Sure, it looks different from
the rest of organ. Sure, it's
a bit lackiing in aesthetic. But
it's sturdy, and while it may crack,
the abyss won't open up again
without at least a little more effort.
