Tonight's Poet Corner: This Way

This Way by Belinda Roddie Signs point to sunrise, sunset as well. This way to Heaven, the other way to Hell.

Today's OneWord: Minerals

"Okay, seriously? What is this 'I crave minerals' meme? Is it really necessary for me to see it every time I log on to Tumblr?" Rachel laughed. "Oh, Austin," she sighed. "If you can't find such beauty in goats and minerals, then maybe you shouldn't even go on the site." "And here's another one!" snapped Austin, who clearly wasn't paying attention to Rachel. "This stupid one! 'None pizza, left beef?' Are you kidding me? Who the Hell wants pizza with nothing but beef on the left side?!"

Today's OneWord: Bland

She asked how the chicken was, and I didn't want to lie to her face, but the dish was so bland that I felt as if telling her that would be adding insult to injury. I put down my fork and excused myself to the kitchen, where I grabbed a bottle of beer from the fridge and drank half of it in just a couple of gulps. The cheap ale had a lot more flavor than the actual entree I had been offered that evening.

Saturday's Storyteller: "Moonlight grazed her cheek as she looked up at me."

by Belinda Roddie Moonlight grazed her cheek as she looked up at me. She was so small compared to everyone else I had known. She was not delicate, nor meek, no. But she was small, her head only reaching my navel as her hands rested naturally against my hips. "You're beautiful," she whispered to me. I smiled. "You're not the first to tell me that." Kiss led to kiss as we sat by the window, the night stars peppering our hair with faint, scattered light. When the morning finally arrived, I felt her thin frame curl perfectly against mine. We were a sculptor's dream against the sheets, white marble and black stone. The keys of a piano. A marvelous blend of color, shape, and form. This week's prompt was provided by Arden Kilzer.

Today's OneWord: N/A

No update on the OneWord website this fine Saturday. Oh, well!

Tonight's Poet Corner: Introspection

Got to see my fiancée in a leading role in a murder mystery play. That was a lot of fun. Made me think about drama again and, I don't know, actually following up with my desires to write another play. ...Yeah, that's it. G'night.

Friday's Ten Word Tales: Ennui

Ennui by Belinda Roddie I wished for eternal youth. Bad call. I'm bored now.
