Saturday's Storyteller: Mantra

Image
Mantra by Belinda Roddie Your psychoses do not negate your positive qualities. Your neuroses do not negate your positive qualities. Your traumas do not negate your positive qualities. Your flaws do not negate your positive qualities. Your ruminations do not negate your positive qualities. Your positive qualities are too resilient for that nonsense. This week's Storyteller had no prompt. I just figured several lovelies needed to read this. Not that I'm some sage or something; I need to read this over and over, too.

Today's Ten Word Tale: Don't

Don't by Belinda Roddie Don't. You want to, but don't. Just don't. Don't. Don't.

Tonight's Poet Corner: Introspection

Folks, I am angry. For some unknown reason, Blogger has deleted  fifty of my Sonnet Solstices. Fucking. Fifty. I am furious. I sincerely hope this is just a glitch, but if you see links that go nowhere on my Facebook, y'all know why! Fucking Google. I swear. You suck. And here I was, having a good night, enjoying some frank conversation after a reading of Lucy Kirkwood's The Welkin. And now the Internet has to blow chunks. Good thing I back up the work that means the most to me, right? Anyway. Three day weekend. I'ma enjoy that. Have a great night, lovelies.

Freeform Friday: Welcome

Image
Welcome by Belinda Roddie My shop is open, and it contains all the goods and services you need: A warm drink and meal, sweet embraces from people you never believed loved you, music warbling beside a fireplace. I can't cure all of your ills, but at the very least, as proprietor of this humble establishment, I can make you feel comfortable and at peace for at least an hour or so while the world whirls outside.

Tonight's Poet Corner: Sonnet Solstice #474

Tri-Tip by Belinda Roddie Tri-tip, roasted potatoes, broccoli, and wine made up our annivers'ry feast, and of course, we popped open the bubbly and toasted to four years. It's been a beast, this cluster of four years, but we've endured, our marriage growing stronger ev'ry day, the laughter and the happiness procured, as we, in many ways, are very gay. This is the only time I will demand "FOUR MORE YEARS!" Yes, for our love, I'll take that, and more than four years as well - that'd be grand. As we grow older, we'll adopt more cats, buy a house, and raise children. My teenage self will understand, despite prior rage.

Today's Ten Word Tale: Job To Do

Job To Do by Belinda Roddie I'm an unapologetic gay enby calling out your racist ass.
