Saturday's Storyteller: Haircut

Image
Haircut by Belinda Roddie Shannon's got a mohawk. Alice shaved her head. Benny dyed his hair purple, and Jayson dyed theirs red. Clifford kept his rattail, while Laura tied her braids. Moises wore beads in their hair to many accolades. Grace has got a buzzcut, and Frankie's got a mullet. Drake's hair is now super long, so you better not pull it. And while Ollie has no hair at all, he still dances jigs - For he has a large collection of bright, beautiful wigs! This week's prompt was provided by Arden Roddie.

Tonight's Poet Corner: Introspection

Well. Another Christmas here in the California bay area. I'm grateful to have spent it with a small, safe pod of people. I'm grateful to have been with my wife. I'm grateful to have made several new friends even just within the past month who have been so good to me. This year has been a dumpster fire in so many ways. But strangely enough, amidst all the shit, I've been able to find a few gold nuggets. I'll save the reflection on those for next week when we're in 2021, shall I? Have a great night and a great weekend, everyone.

Freeform Friday: Shine

Image
Shine by Belinda Roddie If I had a gold coin for every happy Yule spent, I'd feed the beggar sleeping in snow as if it were eiderdown, and then he'd walk to the edge of the earth where he could be carried by angels before his fall brought him to bloody, desecrated earth and winter's angry paws.

Tonight's Poet Corner: Sonnet Solstice #485

Image
The Christmas Cat by Belinda Roddie The Christmas cat was quite festive indeed, wearing a Santa cap atop his head, and he would punish people's wrath and greed by taking a large dump upon their beds (litter box be damned)! He'd sneak into your house and leave you hairballs underneath the tree, and if he encountered a frantic mouse, why, he'd befriend it, happy as can be. And don't think your cabinet was deemed safe from the Christmas cat's rampage - no, in fact, he'd tear through meats and treats as if by strafe and not leave a single package intact. Nobody asked for gifts from the Christmas cat, but he still has "presents" wrapped for us!
