Branded Daily

Tonight is tattooed on my shoulder,
just like all the other tonights and todays,
all the yesterdays and nights before, but
no tomorrows to be found in ink
on my skin. The needle
nearly hits my vein as it struggles
to maintain a perfect design,
a perfectly circular design,
like a labyrinth
ticking
like a clock
