My Sister's Back!

My sister's back! Yes, she is visiting
this week, and I couldn't be happier.
We're quickly getting back into the swing
of things, like sister shenanigans. Her
silliness is contagious, as always,
and we've had fun and goofed off quite a bit
this current night and the past couple days.
We walk at night, and the streets are all lit
up by our presence. Enthusiasm
bursts from our pores. We love life, and we love
to be a part of everything. Our whims
and sporadic decisions rank above
any concept of "propriety." Seems
that my twin and I make an awesome team.

Today's OneWord: Statues

Why were the statues going white, and why was the rain cascading in sheets? I tried to find solace by the window, but the world outside had become nothing but glass. Blankets of water blurred the semblance of life that I stretched my mind to detect. Near me, my lover was asleep on the divan with wine pooling across her lap. Her curls lay in wet swaths around the warm nape of her neck. The statues would crumble in due time. The deluge was impending. We both would drown.
